Disaster Relief For Storm Victims In New Jersey

 

The Realtors Relief Foundation, New Jersey Realtors is able to provide disaster relief assistance through grants to eligible applicants and helping them with their monthly mortgages and rental expense.

This program will provide assistance to a maximum of $2,000 per household. All qualified New Jersey residents who are victims of the adverse effect of the storm and those who can be found on the New Jersey Realtors’ website can apply now.

The foundation is ready to help people and provide assistance on the basis of first-come-first-served.

  1. Borrowers who are unable to meet monthly mortgage expenses for their primary residence that got damaged by Tropical Storm Ida or
  2. Renters who are unable to shell the rental costs due to relocation from a primary residence because of the storm can seek financial assistance.

Public Feedback Requested By CFPB

  The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act underwent certain changes and to evaluate whether it is meeting the stated goals of detecting discrimination in mortgage lending the  Consumer Financial Protection Bureau  is seeking comments. The CFPB requests for assessment of the mortgage disclosure law and checks if it meets the objectives of the  Dodd-Frank Act . To abolish discrimination in mortgage lending in 1975 the Congress enacted . The bureau said the request comes after an August report found that mortgage lenders as compared to white applicants were charging higher interest rates and denying credit to Black and Hispanic applicants. The   bureau said that with this evaluation the CFPB will be able to maintain a fair, competitive, and non-discriminatory mortgage market.
